Tears of an Angel - Contest

"Completely involved by sorrow and despair, the Blue Tiphoon was a mere body lying under the powers of Dark Oak. Not even Super Sonic and Super Shadow, working together, had been capable of defeating the enemy which was getting bigger and was about to explode the entire universe.
Super Sonic looked to the big mass. He knew how to destroy it and was sure it would work. However...
_Sonic! _Called Super Shadow_ I know what you want to do! Leave it to me: I can do it!
Sonic closed his eyes, smiling. No. Shadow already sacrificed himself once, he wouldn’t let him to it twice. Besides, he felt he should do it – He didn’t know how or why, but he knew he was the one.
_Shadow! _Said Sonic, trying to keep a controlled voice_ I want you to promise me that you’ll take care of everything.
Shadow stared at him, his face showing no emotion at all. Moving his head up and down, Sonic understood he wouldn’t break his promise. Smiling, Sonic headed to the ship, his body already losing its Super form.
_Where’s Tails? _He asked as soon as he got in. The Chaotix looked at him.
_He’s still on the command of the Sonic Driver _Said Espio_ You know... Trying to do something.
The blue hedgehog entered the room: Tails was alone, shooting at the enemy in complete despair, knowing it was useless.
_Tails... _Sonic began.
And Tails, as he turned around, didn’t see his best friend’s face for he got hold by his arms. Confused, Tails felt Sonic’s hug getting tighter and, before being able to say anything, Sonic continued:
_Please, explain it to everyone else.
_Expl... What? Sonic, what do you mean?
_You’re the only one that can do it. No one else...
Tails got shocked as he noticed his friend's voice tremble. The fox asked again:
_Sonic, what do you mean? Please, I’m getting scared!
_No matter what happens... _Interrupted Sonic_ You... You will always be my little brother!
Now Tails saw his face: It was immerse in tears even if the hedgehog smiled as he looked down to his little friend. Tails, arrested on the ground, suddenly lost his voice and, even if he tried to, he wasn’t able to say a word.
Sonic, then, ran out of the room knowing his time was running out. He couldn’t, however, leave without saying goodbye to...
_Sonic, where are you...?
_Amy! _Exclaimed Sonic and, holding her head with his hands, kissed her as he never did before, a moment he would never forget...
_I love you. _He said, at least_ I always did!
That being said, the hedgehog flew out of the ship and, as the door closed, Amy ran to Tails in despair. The fox was already sitting, his hands ready to fire the canoon.
_Tails, what’s going on?! Is Sonic going to...? Tails, you can’t do that!!! _Amy shouted.
Tails didn’t answer. Sonic could have told someone else to do it... Then, why did he chose him? Why him?!
_Tails, aren’t you listening?! Get out of there right now!_Amy continued, tears already rolling down her face.
Closing his eyes, Tails tried to forget... But he couldn’t! How could he forget everything he had gone through with Sonic by his side? How could he forget the one that saved him and now was about to be killed BY him?! Shit...!!!
_TAILS!!!
_HE TRUSTED ME TO DO THIS, AMY!!!
Amy stared at him, shocked: She had never seen the kid in such anger and she totally forgot what she was going to say next.
_Do you think this is hard for you? For you?! Sonic has been with me since I was a stupid baby and now he wants ME to kill him!!! Do you think this is hard FOR YOU?!
The tears didn’t stop coming out of his eyes and his anger suddenly turned to sadness. Sonic trusted him...
But he wouldn’t be capable of doing it.
_Tails! _Sonic called him.
Now everyone was on the room and all of them listened to Sonic’s voice. Tails looked at his friend, a mere spark of light floating in front of Dark Oak, and listened.
_We don’t have much time! You have to do this!
_No!!! _Tails shouted, totally lost_ Sonic, I’m so sorry but I can’t do this!!!
_Tails, please! If you don’t, everything and everyone we know will be lost! Don’t you understand that?!
_I... I understand that... B... B-but...
_We always think... _Sonic said slowly_ That we’ll have more time. More time to thank someone. More time to forgive someone. More time to love someone... There are so many things I would like to ask, to say, to show you... B... B-but I just can’t. _Said him, crying in silence_ However, you can! All of you: You still have more time! Make sure you enjoy your life as much as you can and do not make the same mistake I did. Please, Tails... You have to do it!
_S...So-Sonic...
Sonic closed his eyes, feeling the energy of living he had inside. To lose his life for everything and everyone he loved... It would be a pleasure.
Tails held the button, about to press it. He knew he would never forgive himself for that but he, a second before shooting at Sonic, his best friend and brother to him, said, hoping that he would listen:
_Sonic... P-please f-f-forgiv... ve me...!
And, as Sonic the Hedgehog gave his last breath, Miles Tails Prower shouted his name, not knowing the hedgehog couldn't listen anymore... "

Oh my god, I got really inspired, didn’t I?
Anyway...
This is my entry for the contest. It was about choosing a scene from a Sonic show (Or game) and changing it, making a “What if...” thinking about that scene.
If you watched Sonic X until the end (If you didn’t, stop reading ‘cause there are gonna be spoilers from now on) you surely remember the last scene of the 77th episode where Tails had to kill Cosmo in order to save the universe. I always thought about a “Only one” scene, where Tails had to chose between Sonic and Cosmo and leave the other one to die (I’m sorry Taismo fans but we all know Sonic would be choosen [Don’t worry: I’m a Taismo fan too!]) or about a Sonic/Tails death where the other one would be the responsible for it. Yeah, I know, it may sound too sad and dramatic for some but I love those kind of scenes (Not in real life, please). It shows how much love they hold for each other (Not a gay love as some say, but a brotherly one) and how much they care about each other. SEGA seems to have forgot that and is often leaving Tails behind! I’m sorry SEGA, but WTF? Tails was supposed to be Sonic’s best buddy, right?
So, about the contest, I picked up the most beautiful scene of Sonic X (My opinion) and thought of Sonic being the answer for their problem with Dark Oak. Don’t ask me how, but Super Sonic would be able to, along with the Sonic Driver power, destroy him and Tails would be the one to shoot at him saving the universe but killing his best friend in the process.
I must say I am veeeeeeery happy with it. I got a big reference from Super Sonic and Tails from Sonic X (It’s the best style ever, for me) and, even if Super Sonic is pratically the same of my reference (I only changed his facial expression) I changed Tails position only using his face as a reference. Now, is it weird that, when I look at his face, I want to start to cry? That never happened to me XDDD

Anyway, that’s it. On the picture, Tails is screaming Sonic's name as the hedgehog, unable to scream back, gave him a silent goodbye with a wave of his hand. I hope you like it and, please, comment ^-^
